Abstract

|
A hamartoma is a benign tumorlike nodul composed of an overgrowth of mature cells and tissues that normally occur in the affected part ; often one element predominates. In our case, the hamartoma is an overgrwoth of
neural
tissue in the hypothalamus. This tumor caused visual impairment by optic nerve compression, which removed succesfully and the patient's visual function was recovered. We report a cases of hamartoma in hypothalamus.
